Glover beats Cantlay in playoffs to win St Jude

Lucas Glover beat Patrick Cantlay at the St Jude Championship on Sunday (Monday) to seal his second win in weeks in the opening round of the PGA Tour FedEx Cup playoffs.

The 43-year-old American has become a back-to-back PGA Tour winner over 40 since Vijay Singh in Fiji in Fiji in 2008.

"You work hard on anything because you don't know when it can change, whether you're fighting something or you're playing great," Glover said.  토토사이트

"It turned to me very quickly and luckily I was on a good mind to take advantage of it."

Glover sank several dramatic long putts on the back nine during the 18th hole at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, while Cantlay charged late to force through the playoffs.

Cantlay's tee shot went into the water on the left side of the fairway. He shot his third shot into the green two shots later, just inside 22 feet and just inside where Glover's ball was sitting.

Glover made a two-putt for the par, and Cantlay left a must-have putt. Cantlay's ball rolled past the right edge and Glover won.

Cantlay shot a 6-under 64 and Glover shot a 69, finishing 72 holes at 15-under 265.
